VIE RADIO Interview: Laura Brown (gold medal winner) from Vancouver, BC, Canada started off as a gymnast in Edmonton, Alberta. She progressed to the Junior National Team. Laura has won her first World Cup and bronze medals in track cycling in 2010 on the Senior Canadian National Team. She competes at the Canadian National level on team track pursuits (3 riders, inside track, 3 km at the fastest speed possible) around the globe including China, Columbia, Denmark and more. Laura also competes in road cycling through the Total Restoration Cycling Team out of BC. Hear her story and tips for children health. What a start to a week of racing! We stormed the first stage of BC Superweek as we swept the top 4 spots in the women's opening stage prologue. The fast and technical 3.4 km loop challenged everyone's bike handling skills while setting the tone for what will be a very hard and exciting week of racing. Tomorrow is the National Criterium Championships where we will be looking to take top honors while defending our overall lead in the Tour de Delta. "Hi Dr. Vie. I just returned home from Beijing, China - World Cup IV. Next, is World Championships in Copenhagen, Denmark. Here is a little report from the race:
The women’s team pursuit, with the same team who won gold at the last World Cup. Tara Whitten, Laura Brown, and Steph Roorda, all from Alberta, had high expectations and felt strong and ready going in to the qualifier. They posted the third fastest time with some mistakes along the way, and then in the bronze medal final they rode like a smooth unit to take off more than 3 seconds from their first ride and won the bronze medal while setting a new Canadian Record of 3:26.723 (courtesy of Canadian Cycling)."

29 May 2010 Victoria, BC one of the biggest criteriums in Western Canada - Bastion Square Grand Prix.

TRC cycling team wins 4 medals in the provincial road race championships in extremely cold, wet and miserable conditions:
Zach Taylor - 2nd place Junior Road Race
Jasmine Glaesser and Jessica Hannah - 2nd, 3rd place Cat 1/2 Road Race
Jamie Sparling - 3rd place Cat 1/2 Road Race
Elite Criterium with Leah Guloien out sprinting Olympic road racer Erine Willock. It was a great result for our women after perfect teamwork set her up for a great result.
In the men's race we narrowly missed the podium with 4th and 5th after making a few tactical mistakes, but Cyrus was the crowd favorite and won the crowd prime for several hundred dollars! The team is currently in Hood River for the Mt Hood Cycling Classic - a 6 stage race with 160 pro men and a very strong women's field.
