Who are we? Meet Mother Vie, the most lovable woman ever! Our Company is in the memory of my Father, Mr. Vie, the most incredible soul whom I was blessed to have known. I'm their daughter, Dr. Vie.
Dr. Vie, Inc. is a Canadian Company based in Montréal, Québec. The Company is family-owned and managed by a Mother and daughter team, of east Indian heritage out of South Africa.
A family history of breast cancer, cardiovascular disease, allergies and diabetes inspired their mission to promote healthy lives in communities across the planet. The products initially evolved from the family's health and fitness nutritional needs. "We incorporate many vedic principals in our formulations - handed down through the generations," says Dr.Vie.

"I lost my Father, Mr. Vie to heart problems and related diabetes. Shortly thereafter Mother developed breast cancer. I was unable to save Father, so I vowed not to lose Mother. I was working in Switzerland as a scientist in medical devices, however, I had been dabbling for years in natural and herbal formulations.
I contrived a few formulations and took them with me to Mother in South Africa. During my time with Mother I realized the power of healing foods and electro-magnetic energies of nature. Following the recovery of Mother the idea for my research was born, " says Dr. Vie.

Dr. Vie left the field of medical devices and began many years of research and development while pursuing her second doctorate, this time in the field of Natural Health. The years of research turned out to be a very expensive undertaking that the scientist and her Mother fully funded out of their life savings.
The goal was to develop tasty foods that were low on the allergenic scale, sugar free, low glycemic, 100% natural, gluten-free, vegan and nut free. These foods could nourish the body as foods were meant to. However, they could be eaten by a variety of people across a variety of activities. The long-term goal is to prevent food related illnesses like acquired diabetes, problems with cholesterol and a variety of cancers.

Following several years of research and development the first product range surfaced in January 2007. Since then Dr. Vie has formulated several products for children, womens health, weight loss, athletes, diabetes and daily maintenance of wellness and happiness.
Dr. Vie, can be found personally testing her current and new formulations during her 16 - 20 km weekend trail runs in
the magical Québec mountains amidst the deer, birds, squirrels, rushing streams, flora and the local hikers and runners. During the busy week, she personally tests each of her formulations daily during her 8 km morning runs on the island of Montréal.

"Winter running is exceptionally challenging. I feel exhilarated watching the sunrise while running through the soft snow along the St. Lawrence river each morning. Listening to the birds chirping, woodpeckers hard at work even in winter, ducks quacking on the cold river are the simple joys of nature that are free," says Dr. Vie. She is actively involved in making the products daily, she is a daily consumer of her products and she enjoys feeding people around the globe daily. She is also passionate about stimulating happiness around the globe. As such her interests focus on fighting poverty, preventing illnesses, irradicating depression and embracing nature.

"The past few years were the toughest of my life as I had invested all my monies into the Company. I lived in 'survival mode." However, I can personally attest to the power of our foods that sustain me and allow me to clock in 8 - 10 km on my runs each morning and propel me to work long labour intensive hours throughout the day and evening. It is akin to having a restaurant that feeds people from around the world. My work is part of my lifestyle. I am passionate about everything that I involve myself in, because what I do is an integral part of who I am," says Dr. Vie.
The body does not need much food to function well. Instead the right foods are key, especially when you have a few dollars in your hand and wondering what to buy to nourish yourself.
"I learned so much about my self during the last 6 years. My experiences have shed a new light on my life - food, basic needs, happiness, love for fellow humans, the power of nature and the thread that connects us all - pure love. I counted on my self, the love of my Mother and the spirit of my Father during the last 6 years. Interesting times and certainly many interesting stories to share now. It was the worst of times, it was the best of times," says Dr. Vie. During 2010, the Company scientist will be publishing several writings and conferences on her research and findings over her life.
The goal of the Company is to stimulate wellness and happiness around the globe. Trained as a post-doctorate in implantable medical devices in the USA, Dr. Vie has worked in the health sector in five countries as a professor, clinician, scientist, regulatory officer on FDA compliance, author, speaker, fund-raiser, Director of Non-Profit Poverty organization and most recently as an entrepreneur. She has gleaned valuable knowledge about a variety of societies, health issues and strategies for a healthy lifestyle in todays environment.
"I was raised in the land of Nelson Mandela, Mahatma Gandhi and my late father Mr. Vie - three incredible individuals who left their mark on the history of South Africa. When I think about these souls the image of the rising sun comes to my mind - energy.
Mahatma Gandhi spent 21 years of his life in my home town in South Africa to bring freedom to our people. He initiated Satyagraha there. When he returned to India he practiced Satyagraha in his movement to lead India to its freedom. Our first democratically elected president of South Africa, Nelson Mandela was also influenced by Satyagraha - he spent 27 years of his life in prison while embracing love for our people. One of my father's popular quotes was "if someone plants thorns for you, plant roses for him." My father rose above the adversity of apartheid to leave his mark on South African industry."
My up-bringing in the land of South Africa and my Indian lineage instilled many of the values that I hold dear today. I grew up singing the phrase " Nkosi Sikeleli Africa, Mandela will be freed some day." Raised with 4 languages I gleaned much from the diverse cultures around me. I learned first hand about the power of love, the power of forgiveness and the power of belief in one's self. I left South Africa to study in the USA, returned to South Africa after the release of Nelson Mandela to work as an assistant professor at the medical school, then worked in Europe in the medical device industry.
My work as an adult has been focused on the field of health, and has taken me to five countries and to acquire more languages. Through my work and my travels around the globe I have experienced close interactions with a multitude of cultures, age groups, socio-economic groups and humans facing interesting challenges.
I have been blessed to meet extraordinary people around the globe who focus on the power of love to enjoy lasting peace and happiness. I now hope to share my life findings with you so you too may benefit, " says Dr. Vie.
